For the Early Careers Program (ECP - the graduate program), intakes are usually once a year and information can be found on the graduate page.
Online application
The online application process is simple and straightforward, with an online form that needs basic contact details and information.
Each job description will list the required qualifications, skills and competencies that you should use to create a bespoke CV that highlights these.
If you meet the minimum requirements for the role, you’ll be invited to the next stage of the recruitment process, which might be a telephone interview or some technical and aptitude tests, depending on the type of job.
Telephone or Virtual interview
For many experienced professional applications, the next step will be a telephone interview. This is a ‘getting to know you’ interview, so you can expect questions regarding your past experience, the information provided on your CV, and your motivations for applying to Ericsson.
If successful at the telephone interview, you will be invited to a virtual interview, which takes place using video conferencing software. This could be with the hiring manager, the senior manager, or with a panel.
If you are applying for a sales or consulting role you might be asked to complete a ‘case interview’, based on a scenario where you have to prepare a plan to discuss with the interviewers.
Ericsson Aptitude Tests
For graduate and other early career positions, you might have to take one or more online aptitude and skills tests. This is to show that you have inherent abilities relevant to the role you have applied for, and your work behaviour and personality traits suit the company culture.
You will be sent a link via email for the tests that you have been asked to complete.
Ericsson Numerical Reasoning
An assessment of how comfortable and confident you are at dealing with information in the form of numerical data, numerical reasoning tests are not just about your math skills.
In these assessments, you will be provided with a table or graph presenting some business-related data, and asked a question based on that information. In some cases, there will be multiple-choice options, while in others there will be a free answer box.
Success in numerical reasoning comes from being able to read, understand and analyse the data, and then completing some simple mathematical operations using what is in the table or graph to find the correct answer.
Ericsson Verbal Reasoning
Verbal reasoning is an assessment of your ability to analyse passages of text, pick out key information and use it to answer a question.
While this isn’t a test of your English comprehension, you will need to have a wide vocabulary, especially around business language.
Each passage is followed by a question or statement, with multiple-choice answers. You will need to select the correct answer based on evidence from the text. There is no need for any previous knowledge on the subject as all you need to answer the question is provided.
Ericsson Situational Judgement
In a situational judgement assessment, you are being tested on your problem-solving abilities, and the way you behave at work.
You will be provided with a series of realistic but fictional work-based scenarios, with a number of possible courses of action that you can choose. You need to decide which would be the best outcome for the scenario out of several seemingly equal possibilities.
There are no right or wrong answers in situational judgement tests. Instead, your decisions are judged against a predetermined list of ‘preferred’ behaviours.
