Candidates interested in graduate schemes can apply to two business areas to increase their chance of success, and are required to have at least a 2:1 degree (grade of 60% or higher), or a 2:2 and a Master’s degree. Applications tend to open in autumn, around September and October every year, for roles starting in September the following year.

Virgin Media has a fairly standard recruitment process for both experienced and entry-level roles. This starts with registering on their career page and filling out an online application, which takes about 45 minutes; no CV is required.
The next step is a situational judgement test, and occasionally, other skill-based aptitude tests, depending on the role and the test provider used by Virgin, followed by an automated video interview.
Once candidates have passed these hurdles, they will get the opportunity to visit the office on an assessment day and to speak directly to future mentors.

Like many other employers, Virgin Media uses situational judgement tests to get to know candidates and what makes them tick. These are similar to personality tests, but more specific to professional situations.
By presenting hypothetical workplace scenarios, this test digs deep into how an individual would react and make decisions in work environments, which helps Virgin decide whether an applicant could potentially be a good fit.
A situational judgement test often has 15 to 20 multiple-choice or ranking questions, depending on the test publisher, and no time limit, as it is not a skill-based psychometric assessment. The only way to make the most of this is to be honest in your answers, to yourself and to the employer.
