Landing a job at VMware can be challenging as opportunities are usually in high demand. The hiring process is also thorough and consists of multiple recruitment stages including online assessments, technical rounds as well as a series of interviews. The key here is preparation and practice.
VMware online Application
Once you have found the role you wish to apply for you should apply online by submitting your application form and CV. You may be asked some questions about your work experience and background so it’s important your CV and documents are all up to date.
It can be advantageous to read through the job description and tailor it to your resume/CV based on the role requirements.
VMware Aptitude Tests
VMware uses online tests during the pre-screening (also known as shortlisting) stages of their recruitment process. The online tests are typically multiple-choice assessments that measure your aptitude, competencies, and skills across relevant areas of your applied role.
The tests vary depending on which role you’ve applied for so it’s important to review the key skills on the job application and pair them accordingly with a relevant test.
To do well on these types of tests, it is advised that you do lots of practice tests beforehand as only the top 50% of test-takers get shortlisted usually.
The online tests include (depending on role requirements):
- Quantitative tests
- English language tests
- Logical reasoning tests
- Programming tests
- Technical tests
VMware Quant Test
The quantitative assessment is a test of your math skills as well as your logical and analytical abilities. You will be given questions on topics such as solving equations, averages, percentages, proportions, ratios, and graphs. Candidates will have 10 questions to solve within 15 minutes.
VMware English Language Test
You may be asked to participate in an English language test that requires you to answer 25 questions within 35-minutes. The test examines your verbal skills in the English language, such as spelling and grammar as well as your vocabulary and verbal comprehension.
