If you are looking to apply for the graduate programme, then this guide will help you understand what to expect and how to make the best impression.
There are only a couple of eligibility requirements, which are: having or being on track for a 2:2 degree classification, and a work permit for the UK for the entire duration of the programme.
You will also be asked to be flexible about where you work in the UK, since the programme is rotational. This means that although the main centres are in Newbury and London, you may be asked to move to other locations during the two years.
You can only make one application per season; therefore you cannot apply for multiple streams. Research each stream carefully to give yourself the best chance of success, especially as the application process is focused on your motivations and passions.
Vodafone online application
The first step is submitting an online application. For Vodafone this includes your CV and eligibility questions, but you also have the option to submit a cover letter as well.
If you choose to submit a cover letter, take a look at Vodafone’s advice on what it looks for. The main point is not to repeat what is on your CV, but expand on your experiences and why you are interested in the role (and why you would be an asset to the team).
Vodafone Aptitude Tests
Vodafone numerical reasoning test
Once you have submitted your application, you will be invited to complete a series of online psychometric tests. The numerical reasoning test is commonly used for a wide range of jobs, since good numeracy and being comfortable with numerical data is an essential workplace skill.
In the test, you will have to deal with basic arithmetic, graphs, fractions and number sequences. It gauges your ability to work with numbers, interpret numerical data, and think critically under pressure. We have tips on how to prepare and free numerical practice questions that can help you improve your score.
Vodafone verbal reasoning test
Verbal reasoning is another aptitude test that is becoming standard for almost every job application. Good communication and comprehension skills are vital for many jobs, particularly in the digital age when we are expected to process a lot more information on a daily basis.
The tests require you to filter information and apply logic to the information given to answer the questions. Often the questions take the form of comprehension, where you have to say whether the statement is true, false, or cannot say. These are fairly straightforward, but can be time-consuming to figure out, so take a practice test to get used to the type of thinking required.
Our verbal test tips also have more information on what to expect and how to do well on your test.
Vodafone inductive reasoning test
A test of inductive reasoning asks you to identify patterns and relationships between shapes and figures, then apply the logic to find the correct answer. These are used by employers because they show your ability to think creatively, follow logic, and show how you approach new situations.
Many people find these types of tests daunting, but they are not too difficult once you understand what they are asking of you and how to approach them. The best way to do this is to do plenty of practice tests; you can also try diagrammatic reasoning tests and abstract reasoning tests, which will help exercise similar skills.
